ECYC 2015 Chief Executives and Presidents meeting

ECYC 2015 Chief Executives and Presidents meeting

comment(s)

Following the Chief Executive s and presidents meeting, held in Brussels between the  14th  - 16th of May, the three main outcomes can be summarized as follows:

1. As requested by the C.E.Ps, time was dedicated to networking and peer-to-peer working groups. These activities clearly showed the many connection points and common interests that different organisations in ECYC have (ex. music competitions and classes in Iceland and Lithuania, young people's participation in the decision-making process in Ireland and Wales etc.). This type of working groups will be kept as a topic on the Agenda of future meetings also.

2. The Statutes of the new Belgium-based ECYC international non-governmental organisation were signed. In the upcoming weeks, the Secretariat, with the help of FCJMP, will complete the registration of the new NGO. This will allow us to have access to new grants and to spend less money for trips and services in the Netherlands. We will keep everyone informed of the proceedings.

3. Work has continued on developing the three areas of priority for ECYC that were identified during the previous C.E.P meeting in Luxembourg: resources, networking and advocacy and policy. The participants agreed that, rather than having each organisation develop a toolkit for every aspect of youth work, ECYC should use its website to create a centralized database of practical measures and resources that MOs and their your youth workers can have access to. More information about the working groups can be found at this link: http://www.ecyc.org/sites/default/files/notes_from_consultation_on_ecyc_...

Two dissemination and clarification Skype meetings have been held earlier this month.

ECYC thanks all the participants for their support and wishes everyone the best of luck in their work!
